Ashton United appoint managerial duo to take over newly formed Women’s team

Ashton United are delighted to announce the appointments of Ashley Curran & Bex Garlick as Joint Managers of Ashton United Women’s Team.

Both have extensive backgrounds in coaching, with Ashley Curran previously managing Manchester Metropolitan University’s (MMU) Men’s 1st team, who played at the highest division of University Football as well as Chadderton Cott AFC’s 1st team, who went unbeaten to secure a league & cup double in their first season.

Bex Garlick has had a vast amount of experience coaching with multiple age groups over the past 14 years and when questioned on how she feels about her appointment Bex stated: “I am really looking forward to getting started on this journey with Ashton United”. Overall, these two coaches are eager to begin these exciting times at Hurst Cross, especially with the upcoming trials for the Women’s Team.

On Sunday, June 23 Ashton United will be hosting trials for players interested in joining the newly created women’s team. The team will also train once a week with professional coaches and management staff. The team will be well-financed and fully funded with no players expected to pay subs.
