Saturday is not far away and the interest at Stafford Rangers is building, more so due to it being the first game of the season and with the added interest of it being Jody Banim’s first competitive game in charge, against his old club no less!
There lies the problem. Big interest, big crowd, and with the Covid-19 restrictions in place there is a limit of 600 on the gate. We have negotiated a maximum of 90 tickets for Robins fans but these are only guaranteed provided that, for track and trace purposes, we can provide name and contact telephone numbers in advance.
Unfortunately, Stafford Rangers haven’t yet organised an online ticketing provider so we have come up with a plan (everyone needs a plan) that hopefully will guarantee entry to the ground for those Robins fans wishing to travel. Here’s the plan:
1. Register your name and telephone number with Cat Tomlisson via email to firstname.lastname@example.org by latest 5 pm on Thursday 17th September 2020
2. Cat will collate a list of those attending (up to a maximum of 90 people) and those on the list will be guaranteed entry to the game (pay when you get there). She will forward the list to the Stafford Secretary (GDPR compliant of course).
After 5pm on Thursday Stafford Rangers will sell tickets locally and, on the day of the game, cash admission with track and trace procedures in place, first come first served until the 600 capacity is reached.
We know that this will not suit everyone but it is what it is. Clubs and fans will need to cooperate as much as they can or there will be no football to watch at all.
Can we please ask you to get the word out to our supporters, through whatever means possible, about this arrangement. We wouldn’t want anyone travelling all that way only to be refused entry at the turnstiles.
Thanks so much for your understanding and cooperation.
