Biography: Born in Manchester, Hartley progressed through the Manchester City academy, winning the FA Youth Cup whilst also playing alongside Kasper Schmeichel and Joe Hart during his time there. Greg spent ten years at City before moving to the US where he plied his trade at Georgia Gwinnett and Chattanooga. Following a seven-year stint in the US, Greg moved back to England, joining Oldham Athletic in 2017 where he worked with the academy and as a goalkeeping coach. During his coaching Hartley also played for Tadcaster Albion and Atherton where he worked under Ashton United manager, Michael Clegg.

Biography: Shot-stopper Eccles brings more Football League experience to Hurst Cross, the Carlisle academy graduate made his debut in professional football aged just 17. The 23 year-old joins up with a plethora of former teammates at Ashton including Josh Wilson, Jake Cottrell and Louis Almond

Biography: Michael Raynes joined Ashton United in July 2020 after a two-season spell with National League side Hartlepool United, as a 32-year-old journeyman of professional football Michael joins Ashton with a wealth of experience and knowledge as well as sensational talent. Standing at 6”4 Michael will be a monster amongst the Robin’s back line who has the strength and intelligence to hit the ground running in the 20/21 season. With 497 professional games under his belt including matches in the FA Cup and Championship, Michael Raynes is a welcomed addition to both the first team and the coaching staff of Ashton United.

Biography: Sam Baird joined the Robins in the summer of 2020 after a successful trail at the club. Sam who won player of the season at Trafford FC last season will be looking to further develop his ability with Ashton United.

Biography: Stavros joined the Robins to help increase the defensive numbers and to gain experience off Non-League veterans Hunt and Michael Raynes

Biography: John Lufudu joined Ashton in October after impressing against the Robins in the FA Cup 1st qualifying round for Tadcaster. Lufudu is a versatile player who can play on the wing or at the back.

Biography: Sam Sheridan, a veteran of non-league football, joined Ashton United in January 2018 and has been an integral part of the Robin’s midfielder ever since, providing energy and experience. Football is a major part of the Sheridan family, with his uncles being former footballer and current Chesterfield manager John Sheridan and former footballer Darren Sheridan, who played for teams such as Oldham and Wigan Athletic.

Biography: Having made his way through Morecambe’s youth ranks Ben was signed by manager Michael Clegg at Pennington and then following him to Atherton LR before signing for Atherton Collieries for whom he played over 250 games for and was an essential player for the Colliers, especially in there promotion winning season last season being named Division One West Player of the Season last season. Having a good relationship with Manager Clegg, Hardcastle became Clegg’s first signing under his regime at Ashton.

Biography: Versatile winger Walters is in his second spell at Hurst Cross after a loan move from Altrincham in October 2019. He made 5 appearances in a Robins shirt before returning to his parent club. Walters joined Michael Clegg’s side following his release from the National League outfit.

Biography: The box to box midfielder signed for Ashton after a short spell with Atherton Colliers making 12 appearances for Atherton. During his time with Atherton Brewster scored the late winner in the FA trophy against Boston United that helped the club reach the first round of the completion. Brewster also has extensive experiences in non-league football and will to use that experience here at Ashton United here at Hurst Cross.

Biography: Young Midfielder Brad Lynch joined the Robins in the summer of 2020 after a successful trail at the club. Brad, although a young man has impressed so far during his early years most notably at Colne FC where he scored 17 goals in 47 games. Brad will be looking to continue that form with the Robins.

Biography: Liam Tomsett began his career with Blackpool, He made his first-team debut in the third round of the 2010–11 FA Cup, against Southampton on 8th January 2011. He made an impression that season, winning the club’s Young Player of the Year. After multiple loan and permanent moves, Tomsett signed for Ashton United in 2017 after leaving local rivals Curzon Ashton. Tomsett scored 5 goals in 38 games during Ashton United’s 2018/19 Vanarama National League North campaign.

Biography: Plying his trade as a midfielder, Pritchard returns to Ashton United after his first stint during the 2017/18 season. In his first season with the Robins, Pritchard showed his talent from dead-ball situations, even winning the club’s Goal of the Season award following an audacious 30-yard strike against Warrington Town. Pritchard joins Ashton following his time at Chester, where he scored 2 goals in 13 appearances.

Biography: Rowney is an energetic midfielder that has previously played an instrumental part of successive promotions at local rivals, Curzon Ashton. Rowney originally made his debut for Oldham Athletic during the 2009/10 season, and after stints at Mossley and Woodley sports, Rowney joined Curzon in the 2012/13 season, where he went on to reach the Final of the Doodson Sports Cup. During his time, the midfield man went on to make 296 appearances at Curzon, scoring 13 goals during that period.

Biography: Joining from Chorley in June 2020, Jake Cottrell has drawn the eye of manager Michael Clegg for years. His experience in midfield is paramount for the Robin’s and he can add depth to a fantastic midfield for the 20/21 season. Jake is incredibly loyal, having something spent 6 seasons with Chorley. Jake’s loyalty, his fantastic work ethic and his winning mentality can help drive Ashton United forward, Jake is a welcomed addition to the Robin’s.

Biography: Harvey Macadam joined the Robins in February 2019 from Nelson FC. Harvey began his career with Premier League side Burnley but would leave the Clarets to join AFC Fylde’s under 18s before moving again to Northwich Victoria. Harvey then joined Nelson FC where the young box to box midfielder made a name for himself with his energy and goal scoring ability which earnt the 19 year old a move to the Robins.

Biography: A forward-minded player who can also play in the midfield, Wilson started his career with Northwich. Having played a key role in Chorley’s National League North play-off success, Wilson has joined Ashton after scoring 14 goals in 33 games for the Magpies.

Biography: Whilst as high school he played for a successful team that over the years represented Lancashire in the County Cup. With this in his locker Louis then went on to sign for Blackburn Rovers, joining their Youth system. From this Blackpool picked Louis up where he made his first senior appearance for the Seasiders. Here he went on to be loaned out to numerous clubs before joining Robins Tameside neighbours Hyde. From here he has gone on to continue playing at the non-league level Gaining key bits of experience to help our Robins front line.

Biography: The first of many summer signings in 2020, Tom Bentham joins Ashton United ready to re unite with Manager Michael Clegg, a partnership which brought great success to Atherton Collieries. Tom joins the Robin’s in the prime of his career, as a strong centre forward with an eye for a finish he will aim to keep the nets of Hurst Cross bulging. Tom has plenty of experience in the Northern Premier League and can slot right into Ashton’s talented attack.

Biography: Young forward Millenic Alli joined the Robins in the summer of 2020 from fellow Northern Premier League Side South Shields. Alli who began his career at Bury FC moved to South Shields last summer after impressing in a trail game for South Shields. However, Millenic failed to break into the first team and spent the end of the season out on loan at Workington before moving to the Robins.

Biography: Clegg joined the Robins in November 2019 after the departure of former manager Jody Banim. Clegg joined Ashton from fellow Northern Premier League side Atherton Collieries. During his 300 game tenure with Atherton Clegg took the club from the 10th tier to the 7th tier within five seasons. During that spell Clegg won three League titles and also two cups.
