Biography: Born in Manchester, Hartley progressed through the Manchester City academy, winning the FA Youth Cup whilst also playing alongside Kasper Schmeichel and Joe Hart during his time there. Greg spent ten years at City before moving to the US where he plied his trade at Georgia Gwinnett and Chattanooga. Following a seven-year stint in the US, Greg moved back to England, joining Oldham Athletic in 2017 where he worked with the academy and as a goalkeeping coach. During his coaching Hartley also played for Tadcaster Albion and Atherton where he worked under Ashton United manager, Michael Clegg.

Biography: The former captain of Curzon Ashton, Jonathon Hunt has joined Ashton United after 7 seasons at the club. The defender has a great amount of experience in Non-League football and will become a valued member of the Robins’ defence.

Biography: Gianluca ‘Luca’ Havern began his football career in Stockport County’s youth system where he became captain of the under 18 side. Since then Havern has played for multiple non-league clubs at Ashton and numerous other clubs, gaining countless experience along the way before returning to Hurst Cross.

Biography: Welsh born Billy Sass-Davies hales from Abergele and joins Ashton United for a month-long loan until the 10th March from Crewe Alexandra. Billy is a young promising defender who already has a wealth of experience in the Northern Premier League having previously played for clubs such as FC United of Manchester. He made his professional debut in August 2017, since then has made appearances across several professional competitions including the EFL trophy and the Sky Bet League 2. As a commanding central defender Billy is a welcomed addition to the Robins.

Biography: a versatile defensive minded player, Joel has an extensive cv behind him for non-league teams both here in the north west of England and in Wales, along with youth team experience at Oldham and Stalybridge Celtic.

Biography: ( Out on Loan at City of Liverpool FC) Stephen joined the Robins from fellow Tameside based side Droylsden FC. Stephen is an attack minded full back who has an eye for a cross but can also be called upon defensively. During his time with St Helens Town Stephen won both player of the year and young player of the year which helped the defender seal a move to Morecambe. During his time with Droylsden Stephen has won player of the month and had established himself as a key part of their side before joining the Robins in December 2019

Biography: Sam Sheridan, a veteran of non-league football, joined Ashton United in January 2018 and has been an integral part of the Robin’s midfielder ever since, providing energy and experience. Football is a major part of the Sheridan family, with his uncles being former footballer and current Chesterfield manager John Sheridan and former footballer Darren Sheridan, who played for teams such as Oldham and Wigan Athletic.

Biography: John Lufudu joined Ashton in October after impressing against the Robins in the FA Cup 1st qualifying round for Tadcaster. Lufudu is a versatile player who can play on the wing or at the back.

Biography: Smith came though the Nottingham Forest youth system, where in his last season with Forest he was awarded top goalscorer for the u23 Premier League. Since then Aaron has also played for Hamilton Academical gaining good football knowledge of a tough league and has rejoined from the Robins from local side Curzon Ashton

Biography: Stavros joined the Robins to help increase the defensive numbers and to gain experience off Non-League veterans Hunt and Havern.

Biography: Having made his way through Morecambe’s youth ranks Ben was signed by manager Michael Clegg at Pennington and then following him to Atherton LR before signing for Atherton Collieries for whom he played over 250 games for and was an essential player for the Colliers, especially in there promotion winning season last season being named Division One West Player of the Season last season. Having a good relationship with Manager Clegg, Hardcastle became Clegg’s first signing under his regime at Ashton.

Biography: The box to box midfielder signed for Ashton after a short spell with Atherton Colliers making 12 appearances for Atherton. During his time with Atherton Brewster scored the late winner in the FA trophy against Boston United that helped the club reach the first round of the completion. Brewster also has extensive experiences in non-league football and will to use that experience here at Ashton United here at Hurst Cross.

Biography: Liam Tomsett began his career with Blackpool, He made his first-team debut in the third round of the 2010–11 FA Cup, against Southampton on 8th January 2011. He made an impression that season, winning the club’s Young Player of the Year. After multiple loan and permanent moves, Tomsett signed for Ashton United in 2017 after leaving local rivals Curzon Ashton. Tomsett scored 5 goals in 38 games during Ashton United’s 2018/19 Vanarama National League North campaign.

Biography: (On Loan at Radcliffe) Connor Hughes is a new signing at Ashton United, having joined for the 2019/20 season from Curzon Ashton, scoring 2 goals in 18 appearances for our local rivals last year. The English midfielder began his career with Oldham Athletic, making his first team debut as a substitute on 17th March 2012. Arguably his most prominent spell came with Hyde between 2013-2015, where he scored 10 league goals in 62 appearances.

Biography: Plying his trade as a midfielder, Pritchard returns to Ashton United after his first stint during the 2017/18 season. In his first season with the Robins, Pritchard showed his talent from dead-ball situations, even winning the club’s Goal of the Season award following an audacious 30-yard strike against Warrington Town. Pritchard joins Ashton following his time at Chester, where he scored 2 goals in 13 appearances.

Biography: Rowney is an energetic midfielder that has previously played an instrumental part of successive promotions at local rivals, Curzon Ashton. Rowney originally made his debut for Oldham Athletic during the 2009/10 season, and after stints at Mossley and Woodley sports, Rowney joined Curzon in the 2012/13 season, where he went on to reach the Final of the Doodson Sports Cup. During his time, the midfield man went on to make 296 appearances at Curzon, scoring 13 goals during that period.

Biography: Harvey Macadam joined the Robins in February 2019 from Nelson FC. Harvey began his career with Premier League side Burnley but would leave the Clarets to join AFC Fylde’s under 18s before moving again to Northwich Victoria. Harvey then joined Nelson FC where the young box to box midfielder made a name for himself with his energy and goal scoring ability which earnt the 19 year old a move to the Robins.

Biography: A forward-minded player who can also play in the midfield, Wilson started his career with Northwich. Having played a key role in Chorley’s National League North play-off success, Wilson has joined Ashton after scoring 14 goals in 33 games for the Magpies.

Biography: Tames joins Ashton United following a scintillating season at Bala Town in the Welsh Premier League. The Liverpudlian forward brags a good goalscoring record, scoring 17 goals in 21 appearances last season. Before his stint a Bala, Tames also showed his goalscoring instincts at Witton Albion where he scored 49 goals in 90 appearances. As well as goals, Tames brings valuable experience having played in both legs of a Europa League qualifying tie against SP Tre Fiori.

Biography: Whilst as high school he played for a successful team that over the years represented Lancashire in the County Cup. With this in his locker Louis then went on to sign for Blackburn Rovers, joining their Youth system. From this Blackpool picked Louis up where he made his first senior appearance for the Seasiders. Here he went on to be loaned out to numerous clubs before joining Robins Tameside neighbours Hyde. From here he has gone on to continue playing at the non-league level Gaining key bits of experience to help our Robins front line.

Biography: Clegg joined the Robins in November 2019 after the departure of former manager Jody Banim. Clegg joined Ashton from fellow Northern Premier League side Atherton Collieries. During his 300 game tenure with Atherton Clegg took the club from the 10th tier to the 7th tier within five seasons. During that spell Clegg won three League titles and also two cups.
