A quick turn around for Jody Banim’s side as the Robins are back in action on Monday afternoon, hosting Stalybridge Celtic at Hurst Cross continuing the search for the first win of the season.
Saturday saw the Robins fall to another defeat away to Bamber Bridge, twice losing the lead, losing 3-2, in the dying minutes of the game.
Stalybridge travel to Ashton on the back of a 0-0 draw at home to West Didsbury and Chorlton in the Preliminary round of the FA. Celtic lost their opening game 1-0 before going on to emphatically win against Scarborough on game week two.
Celtic’s performances this season prove it could be tricky for Ashton on Saturday but United still have plenty to show as it is still early on in the season.
The history however could be on Ashton’s side this weekend with Stalybridge winning only once in their last ten away games, drawing two and losing seven.
On the bright side, Josh Wilson and Aaron Chalmers both scored their open their accounts for the season, and will look to add more to their tally against the Celts.
Come down to Hurst Cross on bank holiday Monday, for what promises to be a hot afternoon on Tameside, to watch the Robins take on the Celts to fight for a much needed three points, kick-off is at 3 pm.
