Ashton United play Tadcaster Albion again on Tuesday night in a replay following Saturday’s two-all draw against Albion. The two will battle it out for a place in the second qualifying round, at Hurst Cross.
The Robins came from behind twice to avoid and early upset from lower league opposition, in a game the manager was not one hundred satisfied with. In an interview, on Ashton United TV, after the game Jody said the team needs ‘to work hard off the ball for ninety minutes, not just forty-five minutes.’
The Robins did come back from behind twice thanks to two headed goals from Gianluca Havern and Conor Hughes but unfortunately, Havern limped off the field on the 87th minute and left the Robins with just ten men to see out the game.
Banim gave a quick update on the situation stating that it looks like a hamstring and there is a ‘high likelihood’ he will not be playing in the reply on Tuesday night.
Tadcaster manager, Curtis Woodhouse, said in his post-match interview that he was ‘concerned’ about the Robins’ ‘good delivery’ from set-pieces as we proved to be a real threat from them in the game.
However, Banim had some positives to say about the Brewers after the game. ‘Tadcaster are a young side who showed real desire to win the game.’
United got through a tough away game and now will have the home advantage under the lights.
