This Saturday, Ashton United travel to Lancashire to play Lancaster City on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Droylsden FC in the Manchester Premier Cup.
Ashton’s midweek defeat means that they are now out of the Manchester Premier Cup but on the plus side, can now commit all their efforts to focus on the Northern Premier League and they’re going to need it this weekend!
Their opposition are currently 6th in the Northern Premier League table after claiming 18 points from 11 games played, whereas Ashton still sit in 16th with 9 points after 9 games played.
Lancaster City’s last result was a 2-2 draw to Warrington Town in the Northern Premier League so they will be equally as hungry as The Robins to get 3 points out of Saturday’s game!
The Dolly Blues play their home games at Giant Axe football ground, which as been their home ground since their formation back in 1911 and are going to be a strong opposition for Ashton to face.
Described as a picturesque setting shadowed to the east by Lancaster Castle, a lovely day out awaits travelling Ashton fans and the home club will surely give The Robins a warm welcome to their home.
Lets see if The Robins can bounce back from the midweek disappointment and get a strong result from this weekend’s game, hopefully the club’s new signings can have a good impact on the team’s performance!
If you can make it, get yourself down there and give some support to Jody and the boys!
