Match Preview: Stockport County

By Alfie Langford

The Robins next visitors to Hurst Cross are National League outfit Stockport County.

Despite the 5-1 scoreline last time out against Crewe, manager Michael Clegg said there were a lot of elements that he was pleased with, adding: “Crewe are such a first class outfit, who showed us a lot of respect.”

The Hatters will be decent competition for the Robins having made it to the Conference Playoff semi finals , where they were beaten by eventual promoted side Hartlepool United.

The last time these two sides met was back in 2019. County ran out 2-1 winners at Edgeley Park in the Robin’s National League North campaign. The reverse fixture ended 6-0 in favour of the Hatter’s in their last visit to Hurst Cross in December 2018.

Tickets are on sale on the club website at £5 per person. There will be tickets available on the gate, however advice it to buy your tickets in advance.

Kick off is 7pm, and there will be coverage on the club’s social media channels.
