Robins head into final pre-season match ahead of new season

Ashton United have got their last pre-season game this weekend away to Mossley AFC

Ashton’s last game out was a 2-2 draw away at Ramsbottom, letting a two-goal lead slide after a solid away performance, with first-half goals coming from a trialist and new signing Josh Wilson

The last time these two sides faced it was a comfortable away win for the robins, winning 2-0 at Mossley back in 2015

Mossley’s last game out was a 2-0 home defeat to Stalybridge Celtic as they prepare for their campaign in the Northern North West league.

Ashton have had a mixed pre-season with good performances coming in against Fleetwood development squad and Droylsden, but consistency will be what Jody Banim will be looking for heading into the new season with his team throwing a two-goal lead twice in pre-season against Ramsbottom and Oldham.

Most importantly though it will be a full fit squad he will be wanting to go into the new season against Atherton Collieries
