Robins hoping to stop remarkable Red Rebels

Ashton United will face FC United of Manchester this Saturday in Michael Clegg’s first home game where he will want to get his first three points as the manager of the Robins. Since Clegg’s appointment, the Robins have only played once with the past two fixtures against Stafford and Atherton postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

In FC United of Manchester’s last game, they defeated Grantham Town 4-0 at home with Tunde Owolabi grabbing a 14-minute brace for FC.

FC United of Manchester come into this game wanting to keep their unbeaten run going with the club looking to make it thirteen games unbeaten in all competitions. FC United also currently top the form table with FC picking up an impressive 14 points from their last 6 games.

This impressive Form has seen the Reds climb to 5th in the table with FC only 7 points off leaders South Shields.

On the other hand, Ashton have found victory’s hard to come and have only won two games in the last five league games, but they will be hoping to get back to winning ways this weekend.

One player for Robins fans to keep a watchful eye on is forward Tunde Owolabi. Owolabi has been in stupendous form for the Reds this season with the attacker scoring 9 goals in his last 5 games.

The last time these two sides met, it ended up in a Robins win, at Hurst Cross with the Robins winning by a 75th minute goal from defender Aaron Chalmers.

Clegg will be hoping for an impressive performance from his team and will be hoping to gain a vital three points that can lift the Robins out of the relegation zone.
