Robins take on the Colls on home turf for season opener.

The new season is finally here and starts off at home where Ashton United will welcome Atherton Colleries to Hurst Cross for the opening game of the season on Saturday.

The Robins have been busy preparing for life back in the Northern Premier League, displaying various performances with mixed results during preseason. However, it is these games that really matter.

The visitors, who will be making the short journey across Manchester, are newly promoted into the Northern Premier Division this season following a successful form which they will be looking to take into this season starting against Ashton.

The Robins will be looking to get off to a flying start themselves. Jody Banim has been putting his men through their paces over the summer and will be hoping it will have paid off, in a bid to get back to winning ways in the 2019/20 season.

Ashton have been scoring goals over the preseason but also conceding maybe a few too many losing three two away to Mossley AFC, in the last game of the preseason, but offered some hope as they came back with two goals after being three-nil down, nearly completing the comeback.

No game is ever easy and so Ashton will need to be focused from the first whistle, getting these first three points at home will set the right tone for the rest of the season.

Your support makes all the difference, let your team know you are behind them all the way this season starting off by coming down to Hurst Cross to watch the Robins take on the Colls.
