Ashton United travel to Leicestershire, on Saturday 27th of July, to take on Coalville Town next, in the run-up to the new season.
Ashton will play their third game of pre-season against the Ravens, whilst the Ravens will be playing their fifth game and will be hoping to carry on, on their winning streak.
Coalville have recorded big wins in pre-season including a 10-0 win against Spanish opposition and a 7-0 win against Billingham.
Ashton are also playing some promising football this summer, getting results against Droylsden and Oldham so far.
The Robin’s Saturday opposition finished 6th in the Southern League Premier League Division Central, which is equivalent to the Northern league Ashton United will play in this season.
The two teams are no strangers to each other with the last meeting being in the 2017/18 season.
Goalscorer in the Oldham game, Ryan Crowther, says his objective is to ‘play as much football as possible’ in the upcoming season and will be looking to impress manager Jody Banim and cement his place in the starting eleven.
Ashton are Coalvillie’s ‘toughest test of pre-season’ according to their twitter and will prove to be a tough one for the Robins, travel down to the Owen Street Sports Ground Stadium, to support our players in preparation for the new season which kicks off in exactly three weeks on Saturday.
