Ashton United will once again be travelling away this weekend, this time facing Buxton FC, looking to continue their winning streak.
After a great performance last week against Warrington, Sam Sheridan grabbed the only goal of the game, striking and unbelievable effort, and the Robins were able to progress to the next round of the FA Trophy.
Ashton will be looking to do the same on Saturday when playing Buxton who are currently sitting two places below the Robins in the league. Both teams have won their last two matches, so it’s all to play for to stay ahead on the league table.
This will be the first meeting between the two sides since Ashton’s promotion in 2019 and the Robins will want to avenge the 1-0 defeat suffered in the 17/18 season.
After the match against Gainsborough on the 19th October, Manager Jody Banim commented on the game stating that ‘it’s good to get back to winning ways.’ He added that after the poor start to the season the team would need to be looking towards the play offs to make up for it.
Banim will be hoping that the players are as solid as they have been in the last two matches, being strong both defensively and ‘clinical’ when attacking.
Commentary will be available for all those who are unable to travel to The Silverlands this weekend, so make sure to follow all the action.
